About Cosy Garden
My aim for Cosy Garden was to create a cosy picture. It was inspired from a day sitting indoors and it raining outside. The rain hitting the window pane, trickling down the window but being warm inside.
The autumn was in full swing and the colours of the trees gave this interesting colouring.
I started by creating the composition by wanting the window and looking out into the changing garden. I also wanted the sycamore tree to be close to the glass as the interest would be in the leaves and colours. The branches are specially directed to keep the viewer looking around the canvas.
I decided to slant the window sill, to give the picture more dynamism.
Adding the mug of hot chocolate and biscuits adds to the cosy feeling and brings memories of relaxing while watching the rain.
