About View From The Park
During a walk through the local park, I discovered a view I had not seen before. I was surprised as I walk through the park regularly. I later realised that the view is normally obscured because of the leaves from the trees. The time of year was winter and I managed to snap the picture so I could take it back to the studio.
I'd been experimenting with a new style recently and wanted to use it on this photograph. This was because the photo was actually quite dull and depressing.
Like my Corfe Castle painting, I started with the red lines first. Creating the structure of the painting. Then later I applied the other colours and shapes.
The dull photograph was an issue and I had to use some artistic licence to create a more exciting image. It overlooks the roof tops, down the street and towards the treeline.
I really like this painting as it takes something that was initially quite boring and makes it interesting. Its also interesting to think that the initial view is only visible at a certain time of year.
Acrylic on paper. 10 x 8 inches. Completed 2018.
